So, we're changing our whole direction musically, and with that comes a new name. We're currently debating between Burning in Circles and Sympathy for the Perpetrator (we're kinda leaning towards the latter, but feel free to share your opinion in the comments! :)) Also, we've decided to be more modern and innovative with our music...we now proudly present Industrial Metalcore! We'll be working on getting some new members, and playing some new covers by Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, and Bring Me The Horizon. (I love Oliver Sykes! <3) We should have some upcoming gigs, and we better see some epic mosh pit action there. Out with the old, in with our totally hot new direction!

Songwriting

Okay guys, so lately I've been on a little songwriting kick. I've been on a little Trent Reznor kick so I just finished writing a really depressing song called "Suicide Poem" (lyrics will be posted ASAP, warning: don't read them unless you want to cry like an emo kid) and I'll be working on one called "Sympathy for the Perpetrator." However, Alex says he quit the band (he never told me) so if that's true, then goodbye guys, it was a pleasure sucking dick so you could all make us the butt of your ridiculous "Wilted Roses" jokes. Then the lovely songs I wrote will either have to go to Outlet Runnah or Alex's solo act, Far Flung Belief. (Check them out on Facebook!) But anywho, hope you like our new songs...that is, if we actually get together for practice and record them and get gigs. (Hot damn, this is really starting to piss me off.)

Okay, guys, so I'm a girl drummer, which is pretty awesome. And I'm the only girl I know of who's in a band. However, because of that I feel like people don't take Wilted Roses as seriously because of it. It's because society has taught us that men have all the power, women stay home and are only good for making babies and sandwiches, and any female who's not making sandwiches and remaining subservient to men is a ho. It's definitely to a lesser degree than it was in the past. In the 1940s and 1950s, women were treated as commodities.
Case in point: probably the reason we're not taken as seriously as say, Outlet Runner, 14th Union, or Replace the Broken. (That is, besides the fact that we suck balls and we've yet to get together for rehearsal.) I get called a bitch, a whore, a slut, a skank, a dyke carpet muncher (hello, I'm bi, not lesbian) left and right. Just because I don't fit your stereotype of the perfect teenage girl, especially a straight-A honors student, doesn't mean I'm a ho. I've never even kissed a guy (or a girl, for that matter), unless you count the time last weekend at my Halloween party when I was required to kiss Alex during a game of Spin the Bottle, long story. I don't get how that makes me a slut or a whore.
However, I'm honored to be a slut. I'll flaunt this fact by embracing my femininity. But, this stereotyping seriously needs to stop, just 'cuz I don't have a wang doesn't mean I'm any less talented or whatever than the boys.

I didn't quit after all; nevermind that last blog post.
We should start getting together for practice and getting some gigs soon; (for the umpteenth time) I'll keep you informed.
Next show we have I wanna see an epic mosh pit. We're gonna be so hxc. :D

This is Piper here, and I have a little bit of an announcement to make. After 9 months as Wilted Roses' guitarist and drummer, I am now leaving the band due to personal conflict with some of the members. It's been a pleasure being in the band, and I wish Alex and Tyler good luck with whatever they choose to do next. Thank you everybody for all your support, and goodbye.

Just so you guys know, I (Piper) have chosen to go by my middle name for personal and artistic reasons. The name now is Genni (it's short for Genevieve, which is a pretty God-awful name, but oh well, whatever, nevermind XD). So when you see me posting stuff or what not as Genni, don't panic and think I was kicked out of the band and replaced by my evil slutty twin sister. xD Kthxbai.

And to anyone who's gonna start talking sh*t about me now that I'm out: Please don't; I think I can say this not only for myself but on the behalf of the rest of the LGBTQ community, it's offensive. And obviously, you don't know who you're f*cking with. And if you do see someone talking sh*t about someone or doing anything to harm anyone else because of their sexual orientation, don't just stand there. The least you can do is to offer some help.
